Abstract

This paper presents the design and implementation of a real-time identification system using parallel processing technique for the adaptive control of a dc motor drive. A second-order estimation model with load torque term for a dc motor drive is derived. The variable-oriented parallelization scheme of a regularized recursive least-squares algorithm with constant trace has been proposed for the on-line system identification. A multi-transputer-based real-time control and identification system architecture has been constructed to implement the proposed identification scheme. Performance measure results are presented to show the efficiency.
