Abstract

A derivation by homogenization of the proper form of Darcy's Law for a mixture of fluid components is presented; this version of the Darcy law is then used in a derivation of a model of miscible displacement in porous media. The resulting macroscopic model differs significantly from the model for miscible displacement that has been employed in many papers in the last decade.
