Abstract

In this paper, a CAM-based header translation and traffic control chip is proposed. This chip can be used in the implementation of User Network Interface (UNI) and Network-Network Interface (NNI) for ATM systems. The main functions of this chip are ATM header translation, and traffic policing and gathering for every VCI/VPI.
