Brightness enhancement of cholesteric LCD by prism array with additional light source

Abstract

A division prism array film is developed for enhancing the image brightness of the cholesteric LCD with an additional light source. This film, which is constructed with six different of prism arrays and then laminated to the top surface (toward the viewer) of the up glass of the cholesteric LCD, redirects the incident light to a reflected cone to the viewer. And the result has been demonstrated.
