Abstract

An asynchronous rational harmonic mode-locked fiber laser (ARHML) is demonstrated experimentally. Through the asynchronous mode-locking mechanism, the output pulse train has a wider optical spectrum and very uniform amplitudes with the un-wanted harmonic frequency components highly suppressed.
