Abstract

The propagation of the third sound in a superfluid 4 He film with wavelength of several ten µm was studied at 0.9 K by the conventional method employing narrow strips of superconducting films as an emitter and detectors. Some anomalous wave-forms which are very much different from those for long wavelength were observed. The resuls are discussed in connection with the recent theory of solitons in a superfluid 4 He film.
