Angular profile shaping film for lcd backlight with large viewing direction

Abstract

An approach of designing microstructure film to direct the majority of light energy toward large angular direction has been proposed. For an incident illumination concentrated within an angular range of 25o, the peak of the angular profile has reached 47 for the outgoing light, with an overall efficiency of 67%.
