Abstract
Blur-mask approach (BMA) was developed to simulate the light distribution of locally-controlled dimming LED backlight with much lower computational complexity which is less than 1% of that of conventional convolution method. Blur-mask approach was successfully demonstrated on a 37" HDR LCD-TV with realtime modification to perform high quality image (Less image distortion) and high contrast ratio (∼20,000:1 with test image-Lily)
