Abstract

A reflective type polarizer-free flexible displays using a dye-doped liquid crystal (LC) is demonstrated due to combining both scattering and absorption. A polarizer-free multi-switch using gradient dye-doped LC gels is also demonstrated. Such a gel-like flexible display is bendable and trimable. The potential applications are e-papers and decorative displays.
