Abstract

In the healthcare industry, ensuring accurate medication administration is crucial for patient safety. However, the process of medication administration is not as simple as it seems, and medication errors remain a significant concern. Specifically, syringe-based medications pose challenges due to variations in units (e.g., mg, IU) and the need for dilution in certain cases. To address this, we propose a real-time medication administration verification platform. This platform, designed for syringe-based medications, incorporates an IoT web application user interface and terminal devices equipped with machine vision, edge computing, and IoT technologies. By monitoring and validating the medication administration process in real-time, healthcare professionals can effectively verify medication accuracy and enhance patient safety.
