Abstract

The semiconductor nonlinear mirrors for ultrafast pulse generation and switching were presented. The carrier dynamics of the SSBR was also investigated. Results showed that the wavelength-dependence of the fast and slow components of the carrier lifetime was significant for the performance of the SSBR as an absorber for stable mode-locking.
