Abstract

A new construction of optical orthogonal codes is provided in this correspondence which is a generalization of the well-known construction of distinct difference set (DDS) by Bose and Chowla. This construction is optimal with respect to the Johnson bound and has parameters n=qa-1,ω=q, and λ=1.
