Abstract

We developed a cloud-based mobile health (mHealth) application for enhanced hypertension management among chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. The CKD-specific application was used for home blood pressure (BP) monitoring and medication. It incorporated a Patient Engagement Framework (PEF) for interacttion between CKD patients and medical workers along with social media to foster a supportive community. For medical workers, a platform for publishing health education articles and conducting surveys was established. A dedicated administrator website and a credential verification process ensured the accuracy of health information. The application was validated for its performance and usability, and the result ensured efficient operation and a user-friendly interface. The developed mHealth application offered comprehensive health management tools and professional support to empower CKD patients in hypertension management and promote effective healthcare practices.
