Abstract

This paper presents the first fully-integrated bulkCMOS RF down-converter IC for the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite user downlink communication. Assisted by built-in inphase and quadrature (I/Q) mismatch automatic calibration, the down-converter IC features a state-of-the-art 48-55dB image rejection ratio (IRR) within fu1110.7-12.7 GHz signal frequency span without any external control. The proposed receiver architecture enables an off-line background calibration while data uplinks and exploits compact polyphase image rejection filter to fulfill on-chip integration.
