Abstract

This paper introduces a 915-MHz wireless power receiver for battery-less electronic shelf labels in patient information display systems. The proposed energy harvesting (EH) interface utilizes a single-inductor single-input dual-output (SISIDO) buck-boost converter with an ultra-low-power voltage detector (ULP-VD) technique to obtain a low shutdown power. The system can operate without a battery when the input power exceeds 400 nW, supplying electronic shelf labels with an output power of 50 mW for a short period. Besides, the peak power conversion efficiency (PCE) reaches 84%.
