Abstract

A novel approach is developed to study the 4D pulse propagation problem. Stable 4D solitons are found to exist in GRIN media as long as the dispersion is negative and the pulse energy is less than a critical value. The required negative dispersion can be generated by off-axial propagation at a wide range of wavelengths.
