交通大學數據科學與工程研究所(Institute of Data Science and Engineering) 為國立大學中第一所專注於數據科學(Data Science)之研究所，其特點為以交通大學資訊學院為核心，結合理學院、管理、電機工程、生科等學院多個系所之師資，架構學院間之整合交流平台，建構完整之數據科學學科與教育平台，培育數據分析人才，以因應國家發展與產業升級需求。在此跨學門的新興領域-數據科學，我們期許培養兼備資訊與數統學科核心能力，並結合管理或是生醫、電機與工程等知識之高階數據科學研究人才，進行各項跨領域的數據研究，對於當前複雜且巨量的多種類型資料，進行深度的知識探索及建立預測機制與模型，引導數據科學於人類生活之各層面應用，並提昇未來新興科技產業之發展。
